About Ray Helms

Meet Ray

It’s been an honor to serve on the Pacific City Council since my appointment in January 2024, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue representing our community. With over two decades as a small business owner and more than 25 years of public service, I bring steady, common-sense leadership grounded in experience and a deep commitment to our neighborhoods.

My journey in public service began in the 1990s, when I was elected to the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council. After Burien annexed our area, I was appointed to the Burien Planning Commission, where I helped shape thoughtful growth strategies. I also helped create Burien CARES, the city’s nonprofit animal shelter, and played a key role in establishing and sustaining Burien’s beloved 4th of July Parade for over a decade.

Now, as a councilmember in Pacific, I’m proud to call this community my home. I attend church here and am an active member of Pacific Partnerships, a nonprofit focused on organizing community events and building local pride. I’m committed to keeping city spending in check while protecting essential services, supporting local businesses, and promoting development that reflects the values of our residents.

I’ve always believed that leadership is about listening, showing up, and working together. I’m focused on building a stronger, more connected Pacific—one where every resident feels heard, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Thank you for your trust and support. I look forward to continuing the work—with you and for you.
